Great work to all on todays practice!
Please remember to bring tryout jerseys back to the table were you signed in for registration. These are for tryouts only and must be returned.
Bring water bottles onto the ice and players are instructed on when they can relax and enjoy a swig. Do not instruct players to come to the gate so you can pour into their mouths. This is great time for them to learn independence and take some responsibility.
Keep reminding them it is a game and for fun. I have no problem discussing a child's effort or lack therer of with the parent, however we do not want the parent discussing with the player immediately after the practice or on the ride home. They know what we ask of them and if they want to put the effort out they will, it will not help for you to push, enforce or scold them in the dressing room or on the way home.
Please ensure your children are fuelled properly prior to practice. Chocolate and candy will only give a spike in energy and the crash shortly after will effect their ending performance. (health issues of course take into consideration)
As you can see we have a wide array of skill levels. Skill is only one thing we want on our team, attitude is another as well as heart determination and respect. Respect for the other players, the coaches, referees and the opponents. We will also be discussing this with parents shortly. Our team will not have "that" dad or mom on it regardless of how great the player is.
