Minor Novice (Tier 3) MD
Good Evening Players and Parents.
My name is Jason Brown and I will be the Head Coach of the Tier 3 , Minor Novice MD Team for North London.
I am pleased to announce my assistant coach for the season will be Derrick Long.
Together, we have a vast list of coaching assignments with various levels, ages, and Associations.
Our goal is FUN!!!
That being said, we will have highs and lows, successes and failures, good games and bad. Our kids do not need to hear how bad they played, what they could have done better or should have done different or be afraid of the drive home cause "dad said I should have done this".
This is 7-8 yr old hockey. Its a game!
We will use the game to better each player, at each position with a love of wanting more. They will learn from us and we will learn from them.
I look forward to meeting each and everyone of you at tryouts but please remember, this is not house league. Not every player that tries out will make this team. Please ensure you talk to them and explain this prior to trying out. This could be the first "not so nice" thing about hockey they experience. House League is just as fun and just as important to the future of organized hockey. Skills develop over time with practice, so maybe thats all they need to improve their game.
Teaching a child to try his best is one thing we will work on, and letting them tell us when they want to learn or better themselves as a player will be a major step to a life long love of the game.
The team will travel within South Western Ontario to compete in various tournaments. This will be at an added cost to parents but can be offset through fundraising and sponsorships. Details will be provided once the team is selected.
