Tryout Information
I hope that everyone is having a great summer!
With the first day of school quickly approaching it must mean hockey is right around the corner. I am very excited to be coaching the Novice Tier 1 team this season and I am looking forward to a great group of kids and parents.
I am sure most people have noticed that the tryout schedule has been posted. I wanted to provide a bit of clarity as several parents have reached out with questions.
1. Every child is guaranteed 2 hours of tryout time. There will be cuts made at this point in time and most likely after every practice thereafter.
2. Due to the large # of registrants, the first two tryouts (September 8th and 10th) will have a group "A" and "B". This will be done alphabetically and will be made official once registration closes. The exception may be for those trying out as a goalie as I wish to have an equal # of goalies on the ice at each practice. Registration closes August 31 so you will know which group you are to attend shortly after.
3. At each tryout there will be volunteers present to evaluate the players and aid me in the decision process. They will be non-parent volunteers with no affiliation to this team. I can promise you that this will be a completely impartial decision where no prejudgment's have been made and all players will be given a fair shot to make the team.
In the next few days I will be posting a more comprehensive update for the upcoming season. Please let me know if you have any questions at any time.
I look forward to the coming weeks and the upcoming season.
All the best!
Matt
