My name is Chris Johnston and I am the U12 Convenor for the 2024-2025 season. I sent out an e-mail to all families with players registered for U12 on Saturday August 31st. Details of this e-mail are below...
Goalies:
We are short two goalies for the U12 division. If your child is interested, or if they have a friend who is interested in playing goalie, please reach out to me ASAP! North London has great skills development programs for goalies and we have new and nearly new goalie equipment and sticks available to borrow for the entire season if there is a need.
The season kicks off after Labour Day weekend, details as follows:
Prep Skates:
All U12 HL players will start the season with three prep skates, which begin Thursday September 5th (for last names E-Z) and Sunday September 8th (for last names A-D). These sessions are being run by skills trainers Colin Martin and/or Rob Drummond and are optional skates simply meant to get our players back on the ice. Please bring a dark and light coloured jersey in case the skills trainers want to split the kids up by coloured jersey.
Players have been assigned to one of two groups for prep skates.
-U12 Group 1 (Last Name A-D) (who will share prep skate ice with U11 players)
-U12 Group 2 (Last Name E-Z)
It is important that players only attend the session that they are assigned to, goalies can attend any session.

Evaluation Skates:
Evaluation skates start Saturday September 14th. Formal evaluations are run by the head coaches to ensure balanced teams. All U12 HL players need to attend evaluation skates, so please do your best to attend. Please bring a light and dark coloured jersey to each evaluation skate.
The first skate will have all U12 HL players skating together.
Then players have been assigned to one of two groups for the remainder of evaluation skates.
-U12 Group 1 (Last Name A-L)
-U12 Group 2 (U12 Last Name M-Z)

HL Season:
The HL season will officially begin sometime in October. Some HL exhibition games may be scheduled, allowing the coaches to create balanced teams. I will communicate these details as soon as they are available. HL On-Ice Help:
We are always looking for volunteers to help on the ice. Many of you already reached out in the registration process, but if you were not interested then, but you are now, please reach out to me or your child's head coach once teams are chosen.
