Barrie Canadian Tire Classic Finalists
The North London Nationals Minor Atom A had a successful tournament in Barrie facing the number 3 and number 5 ranked teams in the province.
The boys worked hard and were rewarded this past weekend at the Barrie Canadian Tire Classic with a silver medal finish. We went undefeated through pool play beating the province's 3rd ranked Barrie Colts along the way. In the semis we prevailed over a familiar and challenging Waterloo Wolves team 4-2. The finals had us matched against a NobelKing group that was 5th ranked in the province. The game was exciting for the fans to watch as the score went back and forth as the Nationals tried to shut down #18 who was their only offensive threat. With the NobleKing goalie pulled, a seeing eye shot found the top corner which sent us into overtime. In overtime it was 18 again who sealed the deal for NobleKing scoring 4 of their 5 goals on the day.
The team pulled together and supported each other in only their 3rd loss of the year. We grew as a team this weekend and are looking forward to the fun the rest of the season has to offer.
Great work boys!
