2021/2022 Season Update and FAQs
Welcome back Nationals!

The 2021/22 season is almost here and we understand that there may be some questions from parents and players. We’ve put together a list of those questions below. We’ll continue to update families with changes and more information as its available.

Please check the website regularly for updates.
We’re looking forward to seeing you back on the ice soon!

When does the 2021/2022 Season start?

The season will begin in late September.

Can I still register my player for the season?

Registration for the 2021/22 season has closed.

Are vaccines required for players?

In keeping with the Middlesex-London Health Unit’s most recent recommendations for amateur sports leagues, the GLHA will now require proof of COVID-19 immunization for all coaches, volunteers, bench staff, and participants who are eligible for vaccination (including those born in or before 2009), unless exempted. Eligible participants will require proof of having received their first dose before their first skate and must be fully vaccinated by October 31, 2021.

More information on the vaccine requirements are available here.

Will I be able to watch my child play?

Spectators will be permitted in designated areas at the arena. Similar to last season parents/guardians who wish to watch must wear a mask, sanitize their hands before entering the arena and complete the health screening.

Does my child need any special equipment this year?

No, additional equipment will be required this year. Jerseys and socks will be provided to each player.

Can I make a HL team request?

We will do our best to honour all requests, but we can not guarantee any team placements.

Will players be able to use the dressing room?

Dressing rooms will be open, and players can use them but must respect physical distancing rules. We ask that players arrive to the arena dressed in their equipment to minimize time spent in dressing rooms. Masks are required for players and parents in the dressing rooms.
Players are asked to remain in the dressing room until ice time. Please do not wait in the lobby or beside the rink.

When are MD bump up fees due?

We will be reaching out players to collect bump up fees for MD teams once rosters are finalized.

What courses are required for coaches this year?

The requirements for Team Officials are applicable for the 2020-2021 hockey season can be found here.

How can I help?

There are a number of ways to help ensure a successful season for all players this season. We are looking for volunteer coaches, team managers and parents to help manage our COVID protocols for each team.

If you are interested in a Head Coach position for a house league please fill out an application and tell us about yourself.
