the 2018/19 Season!
I am happy to be coaching this team and look forward to an
exciting hockey season that will consist of hard work, development and lots of fun!
MD is the first level of competitive hockey for our players at this age group in the Alliance. With this comes a tremendous level of commitment for both the players and the parents. This commitment will begin at tryouts. Although talent and skill are key components of evaluations, they are not the only components. Coach-ability, work ethic and a positive attitude can often be even more important than talent or skill alone. We will be looking for players who want to come to the rink with focus and are prepared to put in the work to develop their game each and every day.
Games: The team can expect to play approximately 55-65 games this season. This will include all exhibition, league, playoff, play-down, and tournament games
Practices: The team will practice twice a week, on Mondays & Wednesdays – 5:30PM at Carling Arena
Tournaments: We are registered and confirmed in 4 tournaments:
Kitchener Oktoberfest – Oct 19-21
Motown Cup (Detroit) - Nov 9-11
Hespeler Olympics - Dec 27-30
Byron Optimist Competitive – Jan 18-20
Additional Information:
Please ensure that your player is registered before the deadline on August 31 and signed up for MD try-outs. Also take advantage of the MD Pre-Tryout Skate if your player would like a couple of sessions on the ice before the try-outs officially begin.
