Update from Coach Lance
Tryouts start tomorrow
I should get an update list to post by late tomorrow morning
It looks like by the time the Mustangs are finished their releases we will have a significant number of quality players trying out.
Having coached at the midget age for a few years now, Dillon and I have learned a few things. I want to convey our expectations to all players considering trying out for this team. This is a competitive team and your teammates have made a commitment to the team as have your coaches. It is expected that regularly scheduled practices and games are attended. We understand about Football, volleyball, basketball, studies and work. Open lines of communication are important. There will be situations where things come up and you can't make a practice or a game due to these other commitments. If you don't think you can commit consistently to the team just let me know during tryouts so others that can are given proper consideration.
Practices will be fun, but fun can also be physically challenging. We will be respectful of other school sports that may have been played earlier in the day and players energy level however focus and a work ethic will be required.
We will be taking a full roster this season. Based on the last two season having the extra players payed off.
Dillon and I have a good plan for the first half of the season and are looking forward to teaching the team more of the subtle aspects of the game. There will be lots of skill for us to build on.
Tryouts at the Mustangs will overlap ours, I wish it was different but it is not. If you are released from them and are registered in North, please send me an e-mail with your name and position you play….that is it. We will then see you at the next md tryout
I have had a few players let me know of some conflicts with a tryout…Thank you that is appreciated. If you have one, please speak to me face to face and if that is not possible a e-mail would be helpful.
